Rhiannon rises in the morning
and she sings with the birds.
They sing about the Great Shepard,
and she always has the words.
He’s the one who feeds them birdseed
and they never go without.
Even as they sing,
they never have a need and
she never has a doubt.
He grows the baby chicks
from the time they are born.
He spreads their wings so they can fly
and He even keeps them warm.
She sings in the morning,
and all throughout the day.
She sings the bird’s melody
even when she prays.

She remembers the manger
on that sweet and lovely day,
when the baby breathed His first,
and the enemy was kept at bay.
He would be forever known as King,
yet He would go through many trials
and face the people’s sting.
They would one day spit and scream
and hang him on a tree.

But for now, He was simply the
little baby boy laying on the hay—
