About This Book

When the Fighting Stops is a poetic story that was birthed in a time in our own marriage where we wondered ‘what have we done’? Like most couples you fall in love and that seems to be the easy part, or so you think. You buy the flowers, you purchase the rings, you invite the guests and then comes the anointed ceremony of two people who decide to become one. You walk down the aisle, you say your vows ‘till death do us part’, and you kiss and everything feels like a fairy tale. You are so excited as you drive to the airport and fly away to the honeymoon place of your dreams.

Everything seems to be perfect, but is it really? You believe it is going to be happily ever after forever. But when you get home you realize that the true testing has begun. What do you do when conflict arises? What happens when you start disagreeing on everything? How do you handle it when the yelling starts and the conflicts are not getting solved? How will you handle the anger, the hurt, the disappointments that come in your marriage?

Will you stay together or will you separate? The poetry in this book tells a hard, yet powerful true story of a couple who have to make these decisions.

This is a unique book of anointed poetry inspired by a vision Max had early on in his and Tina’s marriage. In this vision Max was on a podcast being interviewed by a radio talk show host. Max was rich and famous and he had done well for himself. The talk show host begins to ask Max about Tina his ex-wife. Max begins to reminisce about the love that once was but is no more. Its a tale of a man who gets a glimpse from God of what his life would be like without the love of his life. He sees the path of what could happen if he decides to go his own way and his wife does the same. In this story you'll read the poetry of a broken man calling out to God for help. You'll see how God has promises for every couple and if you give up and walk away you could be walking out on the best gift that God has ever given you.

Marriage is a gift given to us by the Almighty God. We are called to be one. This is definitely no easy feat. But if you will push to keep connection with your spouse through the good and the bad you will not be sorry. Max and I were told early on by God that we were better together and that has been absolutely true. But even though we are God’s Dream Team it does not mean that we have not been tested and tried.

Max and Tina purposely picked out this artwork style for this book. Its a messy style of artwork to display what real marriage looks like. Marriage is messy and its never easy but when you invite God in there's nothing that cannot be worked out. This book is a vulnerable transparent way of describing how the greatest of love stories can be destroyed by one moment of defeat where the enemy comes in and takes advantage of a man or a woman's broken heart. Words are spoken in anger, walls immediately shoot up, and all communication stops. In this poetry book you'll see how the enemy desires to divide, but God desires to unite.

In every conflict Jesus can be invited in and everything can change for the better. Our Lord and Savior is the best at helping with reconciliation and healing a couples wounds. In this story Jesus speaks to his children in their brokenness and comforts their hurting hearts. He is the greatest counselor you could ever have in your home. He restores connection where there has been a disconnect and he also restores the intimacy that maybe once burned bright and now its barely a flicker.

Come sit with us and listen to the poetry of a boy who loved a girl and watch him make some decisions about his future. Will he fight the good fight of faith or will he let unbelief win and let the promises slip through his fingers. We hope you enjoy one of our all time favorites from the Original Storytellers.
